Like many other countries, the Philippines has suffered enormously from the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCOV). The consequent and untold impacts of both the health crisis and specific policy measures are in part indicated by intensifying economic hardships that may be the undoing of a country that had been poised to overtake some of the biggest economies in Asia before the pandemic.
